Do you know the EARLY signs of heat stroke in dogs? Catching heatstroke as early as possible helps to give your dog the best possible chance at recovery.
Act when you see the early signs, before they progress! If you suspect that your dog could have heatstroke, you should contact your vet immediately.

1 - Excessive panting
Excessive panting with the tongue out, even at rest, can be an indicator of heatstroke in your dog.
2 - Bright red gums or tongue
Dogs' gums should be a salmon pink colour when healthy. If your dog's gums or tongue are bright red, this could indicate that they're too hot.
3 - Excessive drooling
Excessive production of drool/saliva is an early indicator of heatstroke.
4 - Seeming agitated
Dogs with heatstroke are bound to feel uncomfortable and can often appear restless or agitated with their heart rate elevated. If your dog is struggling to settle, this could indicate that they're too hot.
Knowing the early indicators can help to save your dog, so be sure to have them memorised!
